Multi-Agency Gang Arrest Nets Weapons, Drugs, Cash

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Corpus Christi police are cracking down on gang members and now they say they've made 26 arrests in an operation initiated about a month ago.
The criminal analysis unit identified 136 active warrants for gang members and their family members and associates. So far, they've rounded up 26 of those wanted people.
Patrol officers now have access to that information and will continue the crackdown.
Tuesday, officers along with state and federal agents picked up a suspected gang member and confiscated several handguns, rifles, cash and cocaine.
That investigation began a week ago at Rack Daddy's when one man shot another in the legs over a woman.
A gang investigator identified a convicted felon as the shooter and several agencies raided his home on Dunbar Street. Jose Garcia, 26, is charged with the shooting.
Officers say the ATF may take over the case involving the weapons. If it leads to a conviction, they hope it leads to a longer sentence for the individual involved.The Corpus Christi Police Department provided the list of all those arrested so far in the investigation:
