CORPUS CHRISTI - A Portland man has plead to guilty to federal charges of attempted online solicitation of a minor.
Bryan Martin, 39, faces at least 10 years in prison and up to life in prison when sentenced later this year.
Martin was arrested late last year as part of an investigation into his telephone and online interactions with a girl he knew was only 12 years old.
Prosecutors say it was the girl's parent who alerted them about Martin's activities.
A Corpus Christi police officer posed as the girl in online conversations where Martin expressed his desire to have sex with the girl.
Martin was arrested at his home on December 8th. He was held in the San Patricio County jail before being transferred into federal custody.
Martin was a member of the Portland Planning Commission.
