Javs Earn 5 More All-American Honors

KINGSVILLE, TEXAS - The 2011 D2Football.com and 2011 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America teams were released on Thursday with Texas A&M-Kingsville picking up five total awards.
Javelina junior Jonathan Woodson (Missouri City/Marshall HS) garnered first team honors as an all-purpose player on the Don Hansen team and honorable mention honors as a running back on the D2Football.com team.
Woodson led NCAA Division II with 209.9 all-purpose yards per game. He rushed for 1,017 yards on 6.3 yards per carry becoming only the eleventh player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. His 2,309 all-purpose yards for the season is the third best total in school history behind Johnny Bailey's 1988 and 1986 seasons. He set the school single season and career records for kick return yards during the 2011 season while also snagging 50 catches for 556 yards and scoring 14 total touchdowns. He was previously named First Team AP Little All-American as an all-purpose player and Second Team Daktronics All-American as a running back.
Junior linebacker Jeremy Aguilar (Los Angeles, CA/Roosevelt HS) was named honorable mention All-America by both entities. He racked up 91 tackles, 14.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, five pass breakups, 11 quarterback hurries and an interception this year. He previously earned Second Team Daktronics All-America and Lone Star Conference Linebacker of the Year honors.
Senior defensive end Roderick Benman (Oklahoma City, OK/Rogers HS) took home Don Hansen Honorable Mention All-America honors. Benman was a force on the defensive line for the Javelinas as he led the Lone Star Conference in both sacks (12.0) and tackles for loss (16.0). He added 43 tackles, three pass breakups and seven quarterback hurries. He was previously named Second Team Beyond College Sports Network All-America.
