RICHARDSON, TEXAS - Texas A&M-Kingsville junior forward Marshall Bonds III (Little Rock, AR/Mills HS) was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Bonds had an unbelievable defensive game in the team's 104-94 triple overtime victory over A&M-Commerce on Saturday. He tied a school record with six blocks while adding three steals, 10 points and seven rebounds in the must-win game. He added another block in the team's 63-52 loss at #3 Tarleton State on Wednesday.
Bonds leads the Javelinas with 21 blocks on the season and is tied for fourth place in the LSC with 1.0 blocks per game.
